We are busy family looking for an amazing live-out nanny/mother’s helper to help in the afternoon/evenings so that we can stay sane.
Starting March 2015, we are looking for someone to work Monday to Thursday from 3pm – 8pm to help with cleaning the house, making dinner, picking up the kids and helping with bedtimes.
Ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, kind, caring, dedicated and dependable.
Needed: Experienced, part-time, live-out mother’s helper
Duration of Employment: long-term, on an annual contract
Start Date: March 2015 (exact date TBD)
Number of Children: 1 infant boy (6 months) and one pre-school boy (3 years old)
Hours: Monday- Thursday, 3pm – 8pm with possible occasional work.
Location: Dundas and Broadview, Toronto
Responsibilities:
• Maintain a clean and tidy house (regular cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, laundry, etc.)
• Prepare dinner and prep snack food or lunches for the family (food provided)
• Pick up children from daycare/school
• Assist with bedtime routines, such as bathing, reading stories, brushing teeth, putting the kids to bed
• Administer medicine to the children when applicable
• Clean up after dinner and leave the house tidy at the end of the day
Occasional babysitting includes:
• Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children
• Take children for daily outings (weather dependant) to local parks, drop-ins, libraries, baby cafés, playdates with other children, AGO, ROM, etc.
• Teach the children good social manners
• Discipline the children, when necessary
Other:
• The Employee agrees to keep updated First Aid and CPR, and to provide a Police Background Check.
• The Employee will be responsible for their own meals but will have access to the family fridge.
• The Employee must be punctual.
• The Employee must have their own cell phone and be reachable at all times while working.
Wages:
• Hourly rate to be negotiated.
• The employer will deduct legislated deductions, including income taxes, CPP and EI from pay and will provide the employer with proper pay stubs and a T4 for tax purposes.
Time off:
3 weeks over the course of the year, to be taken as 2 weeks over Christmas and 1 week to be taken at a point agreed to by both Employer and Employee. Employee is also eligible for any statutory holidays.
6 days to be used for illness, medical appointments, bereavement/compassionate leave. Cannot be used for vacation. The Employee will use best efforts to give the Employer at least twelve (12) hours’ notice before being absent due to illness.
