I'm very active, outgoing, muli-cultural and accepting. I've volunteered to work with little children for numerous hours. Despite the fact that i dont have any certificates or proofs of child care ability or safety issues, i can assure you that i'm very well aware of them through the volunteer orientations and other activities i've participated in with children. READING BUDDIES PROGRAM, TERRY FOX LIBRARY January 14 – February 25, 2013 I was paired with a child (Gr. 2) who needs practice with his reading and supported my ‘buddy’ by listening as he reads or by reading to the child. TACO-DE-MAYO May 7, 2013 I was paired up with 4 children; roughly in grade 2-4, and assisted them with making tacos. Namely, cutting, slicing, mixing, explaining the recipe, and so on. LITTLE SPROCKETS-BIKE CAMP July 15 – August 9, 2013 Volunteers will provide support to staff as they instruct children between 4 and 12yrs old as they learn to ride on different types of surfaces (including small ramps and teeter tottters) and obstacle courses making this program a lot of fun. Volunteers assist with setup and take down of tools and provide encouragement and hands on support to participants as they learn road safety and develop bike skills. LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY/SKATE CAMP August 19 – August 30, 2013 Volunteers will provide support to staff as they instruct children between 5-10yrs old as they learn fundamental basics about hockey and skating. They will also help setting things up or putting things away before and after each activity.
