Job Summary: Responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. Essential Job Functions: • Cleans and prepares guest rooms and suites for occupancy through proper application of Whispering Woods room cleaning procedures for guest rooms, bathrooms and public areas. • Stocks, and /or maintains carts with specific products and supplies in required quantities to clean assigned rooms. • Cleans up to 18 rooms per 8 hour shift. • Completes Room Attendant Daily Report correctly identifying the status of each assigned room. • Reports any maintenance problems or product shortages. • Maintains security for guest and property by keeping guest room doors locked at all times; reports any suspicious activity by guests or others; properly labels lost and found and handles according to lost and found procedures; turns items in immediately. • Adhere to established hotel practices, policies and procedures. • Follows hotel standards for safety and security and other requirements outlined in employee handbook. • Speaks to guests and addresses them with smile and in polite manner. Communicates problems or guest concerns to insure 100% guest satisfaction. Notify Executive Housekeeper of any unusual circumstances. • Provide information to guests about hotel services and facilities and local attractions. • Performs special cleaning projects (weekly / monthly / quarterly) as assigned by Executive Housekeeper. • Perform other cleaning tasks as assigned by Executive Housekeeper including vacuuming corridors, cleaning public and employee restrooms, washing windows, working in laundry, picking up trash inside and outside, checking rooms, training other employees, etc. • Follow instructions for care in handling chemicals, spills and sharp objects • Handle keys according to hotels key issuance policy at beginning and end of shift. Never give your key to another employee or let a guest in a room without proper ID. • Dress in proper uniform ready to begin shift 5 minutes before schedules start time. • Maintain storage rooms, stock carts, and remove trash. • Be available to work all days, holidays and weekends as scheduled. • Return keys and Room Attendant Daily Report to Executive Housekeeper or Supervisor at end of shift. Always check schedule for next day and check-in with supervisor before departing for day. • Communicate relevant information in a timely and confidential manner. • Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and directives. Adhere to the highest ethical standards, professional conduct and confidentiality in order to gain trust and respect in the organization and community. • Demonstrate a “can do” attitude having the ability to work under tight time deadlines and complete high quality work on a timely basis with little or no supervision. • Perform other tasks as directed by Executive Housekeeper. Must be able to pass a background and drug screen and have reliable transportation.
