Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks an Executive Housekeeper to provide a variety of residential housekeeping duties on a daily basis at the residence of the President of the Institute. Under the supervision of the House Manager, the Executive Housekeeper will ensure that the residence of the President is cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. The duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, a full array of household cleaning tasks, from floor to ceiling, cleaning of furnishings, appliances, windows and window treatments, bathrooms, laundry, carpets, other flooring, baseboards, vents, dishes, kitchen, basement, garage and laundry room. Also, the Housekeeper is expected to provide cleaning services during Institute events that are held at residence of the President. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for stocking, ordering and accepting delivery of food, other supplies, and arranges for household maintenance in accordance with established procedures. The successful candidate must have the minimum of three (3) years of residential cleaning experience in providing care, cleaning and maintenance for an executive level professional. Experience with cleaning and maintaining of high-end furnishings is highly desirable. The successful candidates must be confidential, trustworthy, possess a good work ethic and demonstrate the ability to build trust with the Executive and the family of the Executive. The work environment is in a personal setting and strict confidentiality and professional discretion are required. The selected candidate must be able to produce at least three supportive references, and will be subject to a thorough background check to include: credit history, criminal conviction history, driving record, sex offender registry, and a review of any other relevant databases. Additionally, the selected candidate will be required to undergo, and to satisfactorily pass, a pre-employment physical and drug screening. The initial period of employment will be on a regular part-time basis for training. Upon completion of training, weekly hours will build to or near 40 hours per week.
