TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Carlsbad-Vista Job Description Job Title: Lead Housekeeper The Lead Housekeeper will be responsible for providing supervision and direction for day to day Housekeeping operations throughout the hotel, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and maintaining guest satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide training of all Room Attendants to maintain a team oriented environment. Ensures all floors are stocked properly with room and Housekeeping supplies. Place product orders and oversee inventory. Inspect rooms and complete inspection paperwork. Cleans rooms to hotel standards. Frequently lift and/or move heavy weight Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear or smell. Ensures the standards of guest rooms meet hotel standards. Reports any damages or issues to Management. Reports any engineering issues to the Lead Engineer Ensures Lost & Found items are turned in immediately Keeps corridors clear of trash, soiled linen, dishes, cribs and other guest service equipment. Responsible for the inspection and status input of guest rooms. Ensures Room Attendant is efficiently working at all times and that Room Attendants are fully equipped with the supplies that they need to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Oversees the administrative paperwork if an injury occurs at the workplace. Participates in disciplinary action within Housekeeping department. Assists and oversees other departments as needed including laundry and houseman. Maintain a good working relationship with guests, groups, and co-workers throughout the hotel. Greet guests with a warm smile and accommodate their requests. Conduct regular employee/departmental meetings and administer counseling, and disciplinary action to employees as necessary. Qualifications: Previous experience as a lead housekeeper preferred. Previous experience working in the Housekeeping department is required. Strong time management skills Strong leadership, management, and employee relations skills Strong problem solving skills Works well under pressure and with others as a team. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend instructions. Must be able to add and subtract simple numbers.
