Housekeeper Job in Vancouver, British Columbia

We are looking for an experienced and professional career housekeeper to join our family. You will help keep our home clean, maintained and organized... and help us tackle our ever-mounting piles of laundry. Our 3 level, 3700 sqft, home is in the Point Grey neighbourhood with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. We are looking for a positive individual with a high attention to detail that can commit to working part-time five days a week: Monday to Friday mornings, and infrequently on weekends if requested. You will operate in conjunction with our longstanding House Manager to ensure our home is very clean, very organized and functional for our busy family of five... plus Luna, our puppy. This is a long-term permanent position. Finding someone who wants to be with our family for the long haul is very important to us. Responsibilities: - Ensure daily tidiness in all areas of home: ie: put things away where they belong - Clean kitchen: load/unload dishwasher, clear counters and wipe appliances/cupboards - Maintain thorough cleanliness of the bathrooms: sanitize toilets, wipe mirrors/showers/bath, hang wet towels, change towels, etc. - Make beds daily and change the linens weekly - Wash, fold, hang, iron and put away the continuous laundry: bathroom/ kitchen/ bedroom linens, all family clothing, children’s school and sports gear, shoes, etc. - Sort and take out garbage, compost and recycling daily - All daily housekeeping and deep cleaning duties: sweep, vacuum, mop, polish, dust, eliminate/tidy loose papers and kids clutter, etc. - Assist with ongoing decluttering and organization in all areas of the home including cupboards, closets, drawers, and extra storage - Ensure continuous restock of bathroom tissue, linens etc. - Weekly clean out refrigerator and pantry: compost expired food and wipe out fridge and pantry - Keep interior windows clean - Seasonal deep cleaning: appliances, artwork, walls, light fixtures, electronics, exterior entryways, patios, patio furniture, garage - Walk our dog, Luna, daily. - Sweeping of exterior walkways, steps, patios and railings - Liaise with House Manager: report any necessary repairs or replacements, extra cleaning supplies needed, etc. - Run errands, as needed, to assist the House Manager - Laundry, laundry, laundry and more laundry Requirements: - Must have past house cleaning experience - Must be reliable, a self starter and have a steadfast strong work ethic - Must have the ability to work within Canada or have a valid work permit (sponsorship will NOT be provided) - Must hold a valid Driver’s License to drive our family car if needed - Possess a high attention to detail and the ability to work independently - Work in a team with a positive and cheerful attitude - Live locally in Vancouver - Non-smoker, no exceptions. Job Details: - Part-time, Permanent: guaranteed 20 hours a week - Hours: Monday-Friday approximately 8:00AM to 12:00PM (times can be slightly flexible) - Possibility to work more hours on Wednesdays, ending the day at 4:00PM - Will be asked to work on a weekend weekend for infrequent special events with advanced notice - Hourly rate: $30-$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Hiring Process: If you’re a super detailed person who obsesses over cleanliness and is able to work independently without minimal direction then please apply with your resume to this job posting.
