Housekeeper Job in Powhatan, Virginia

We are seeking a warm-hearted and reliable housekeeper to help maintain a cozy and welcoming home for an elderly couple. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of others. The couple you'll be helping consists of an active wife who loves gardening and a husband who has dementia but does not need personal care. Your support will allow the wife to continue enjoying her hobbies while ensuring their home remains a comfortable place. Your daily tasks will include light cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and tidying up the bathrooms and kitchen. You’ll also help with laundry—washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothes and linens. Keeping an eye on household supplies and restocking when necessary will be part of your responsibilities. Meal preparation and light cooking will also be part of your role, along with keeping the kitchen tidy. You may occasionally help with grocery shopping and other small errands. Since the wife enjoys gardening, you’ll support her with basic garden maintenance and outdoor tasks, helping her garden flourish. While performing your duties, your friendly and positive presence will be greatly appreciated. It’s important to respect the couple’s privacy and dignity while ensuring their home remains safe and comfortable. We’re looking for someone who is organized, able to manage their time well, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Good communication skills, basic cooking skills, and a positive attitude are important. Experience with elderly clients or individuals with dementia is a plus but not required. It would be wonderful if you have experience in gardening or are willing to learn. First aid or CPR certification is a plus, as is having a driver’s license and reliable transportation. We are ideally looking for someone to work three days a week, preferably on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but we are flexible and open to discussing different schedules with the right candidate.
