Housekeeper Job Description General Purpose To maintain a clean and tidy environment for a private household. Reports to the Household Manager Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities • Vacuum, mop and dry hard surface floors • Vacuum clean carpets, rugs, draperies, upholstery, under cushions and room edges • Dust and polish furniture and fittings • Empty and clean trash containers • Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers, remove water spots as needed • Wipe down glass surfaces and faucets • Make up beds and change linens as required • Wash windows as scheduled • Operate carpet cleaning machine as needed. • Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a sanitary and organized condition • Notify Household Manager when new supplies are needed • Clean kitchen according to agreed hygiene standards • Clean appliances • Deep clean one room of the house per week with the assistance of the household manager • Fill in for household manager when she is on vacation Knowledge and Experience • 5 years of working in private home or in the hospitality industry. Professional training preferred. • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, including natural products with their methods. • Knowledge of cleaning sensitive surfaces • Must have professional work references that may be verified and contacted • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend • Ability to lift, push and pull cleaning equipment • Must be able to speak and read English • Must be a US citizen or have a verifiable Green Card Key Competencies • Notices the details that need cleaning beyond the basics • Customer focused • Reliability • Willing to take direction • Adaptability • Organized • Personal Integrity • Honesty • High energy levels 12- 14 hours per week needed to clean large home. Tuesday and Friday preferred to work between 9am and 5pm only Wages: $25 and up starting per hour depending on training, experience and references.
