Job Summary: C&W Services is seeking a 3rd Shift Custodial Supervisor at our client location in London, ON. Under the general supervision of the site manager, the Custodial Supervisor performs janitorial duties and supervises custodial staff assigned to clean the interior of administrative, academics and recreational buildings. Job Description: Assign, supervise and participate in the work of a large group of custodians. Assign, supervise and participate in annual special work projects with the staff. Inspect and ensure completion of work assignments. Check and verify time records. Attend training and seminars on safety issues; train custodial staff. Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment and request repairs needed; make minor/interim repairs. Evaluate, counsel and initiate performance appraisals and/or disciplinary actions. Communicate with staff, administrators, clients, and the general public as authorized. Maintain standards of work performance and replace absent custodians. Requisition and maintenance of inventory of janitorial supplies. Coordinate, schedule, and supervise custodial operations for special events. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum two years of janitorial supervision experience. Experience working in a unionised work environment preferred Knowledge of janitorial methods and procedures, materials, chemicals and equipment used in cleaning buildings. Knowledge of existing safety laws, rules, methods and procedures including applicable OHSA and its regulations to ensure the safety of staff, the public, and building occupants. Ability to assign, train, inspect and evaluate the activities of subordinate personnel engaged in janitorial duties. Management of Personnel Resources : Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Schedule : Monday to Friday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check, including criminal history.
