Housekeeper Role Profile The Housekeeper will work as part of team to look after the daily upkeep of the principals property in Toronto, which must be kept to the highest standard. They must have the flexibility and able to work long hours during busy periods. They will comply with all directions and instructions given by the principals and management, while working closely with other staff members. Maintaining regular contact with the Head Housekeeper and House Manager is essential, as they will give advice and direction on tasks and priorities. The principals are in residence six months a year, so although contracted hours shall be 40 per week, employee will work 60 hours per week for six months a year, and reduced hours for the remaining months, unless travelling with the principals. Daily tasks will include the cleaning and polishing of all fixtures and fittings which consists of vacuuming, dusting polishing silver, cleaning brass & crystal, care of ceramics, care of carpets, mopping & waxing floors. Clothes care will include laundry, washing, ironing and repairs to clothing and other fabrics. Housekeepers must undertake basic cooking, and wait table on occasions when the family are in residence. As the principals regularly travel between residences, the housekeepers must packing and unpacking clothing, accessories and jewellery and check inventories of items sent and received.
