Housekeeper Job in Fremont, California

Essential Job Functions: 1. Clean out the ashtray stands in the hallways. 2. Wipe down the vending areas including the ice machines, candy machines and soda machines in the guest corridors. 3. Remove trash from the trash cans in the hallways, from the housekeeping carts and from the guest rooms; deposit trash in the dumpster. 4. Thoroughly clean and vacuum the guest hallways, elevators, carpet edges and stairwells. 5. Dust light fixtures in the hallways, fire extinguisher boxes, railings, etc. 6. Remove gum from the carpet/floors. 7. Remove soiled linens from the housekeeping carts and take to the laundry room to be cleaned using the laundry carts. 8. Restock the carts with clean linens as needed by the room attendants. 9. Remove dirty glasses from the guest rooms and take to the dishwasher in the kitchen or housekeeping area for cleaning. Restock clean glasses as needed. 10. Stock amenities and cleaning supplies in the storage area. 11. Promptly and courteously deliver all items requested by guests within ten (10) minutes of request. Return items to Housekeeping once the guest is finished. Job, Knowledge, Skills and other Requirements Continued: 2. Lift and carry heavy boxes/loads of linens weighing approximately thirty (30) lbs. 3. Bend, stoop and reach to vacuum and perform cleaning duties. 4. Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods. 5. Easily handle linens, glasses and amenities. 6. Inspect public areas and rooms, and clean any area that requires immediate attention. 7. Push heavy carts and shampooer weighing approximately one hundred (100) pounds. Marginal Functions: 1. Assist Room Attendants in cleaning rooms when needed at approximately 24 minutes per room. Job, Knowledge, Skills and other Requirements: 2. Able to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written from with guests and associates so as to respond accurately and completely to people to give directions, instructions, information, answer questions and provide service as required.
