Farida Velasco

Dearest Host Family,

Housekeeper

Dearest Host Family, Good day! My name is Farida I am 36 year old (female) Filipina. I am presently working as nanny here in Hongkong. I finish my Bachelor Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology at Philippines State College of Aeronautics in Manila. Unfortunately I did not pass the license exam. Ive plan to take another exam but the opportunity to work has come first. And I grab it to help my brother schooling expenses. My first Language of course is Filipino and I am also good in English. I started learning English in my primary school. English is also include in the subject in my secondary level. When it comes to child experience I have looked after children in both formal and informal context. Last 2008 I worked in Riyadh Saudi Arabia for two year. We are four housemaids at home but I am most responsible with the children. I took care of five children aged 9,7,4,2 and 21 years old autistic. They are all boys. As their Nanny I am responsible for all their needs. The age 9, 7, and 4 are attending school. In the morning I wake 5am to wake them up and tell them to prepare their self to school. While they are preparing I went in the kitchen to prepare their breakfast. After they eat I take them to school. And when Im home I clean my area. At 10am I wake the autistic kid, who cant walk and speak. I bring him in the bathroom wash him, brush his teeth change his clothes and put him in the ladder to go in the basement for his breakfast, he can walk while holding the arm of the ladder. It also serves as his exercise in the morning. While he is going down I prepare his breakfast and when he reaches the basement I help him to the dining and give his food. I did not feed him because he can eat alone. I just watch him and tell him to bite the food and eat slowly because if he eat very fast without bioting it makes him choke. In this case I always keep my eye on him while I clean the things I used in the Kitchen. After he eats I put in front of the television and every four hour bring him in the bathroom to urinate. At 11am I check the youngest and if he is awake I will bath him and bring to madam. During Lunch time I pick up kids in the school and when we reach home we first do their homework and after that tats the time they will eat their lunch. Madam and the cook is the one who prepare for the lunch and dinner. After eating its time for play. At night after they eat I take them into their own room to prepare their pajama. And after I prepare I will check them if they are already sleep. After that I put Mohammad in the ladder to go up in her room. While waiting him I wash the baby and change his pajama and give milk. After giving his milk I go to Mohamad and take him to his room and wash him, brush his teeth, put his pajama on. Bring him to lie down in his bed. After that before I go to bed I wait my Madam to sleep because thats the time she will play with the baby. At exactly 11pm I go to bed with the baby That is my daily routine for two years and two months. Sounds very hard but with the help of God I perform my job and satisfy may Madam. Until now we are friend in Facebook and Instagram so from time to time I can still communicate with her and ask for the children. I can comfortable say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with them. I also take care of my son since his birth. When I decided work abroad He is already 4 years old. My eldest sister is the one who look for him. When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy outdoors, being with my friend, going for walks. As far as preference s are concerned I am looking for a live in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay and work for them at least 12 to 24 months. I would also prefer looking after children same as the children I been took care in my previous job. I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you: to answer whatever question you may have about me or my child care experiences, to learn more about your family, your interest and to know more about what you expect from the nanny arrangement. Thank you very much for your interest in my application. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours Sincerely, Farida Velasco Dearest Host Family, Good day!
