Housekeeper Job in Calgary, Alberta

This is a full-time live out position in central northwest Calgary. The individual will be taking care of 2 children ages 6 and 10. Responsibilities with the children include: dressing children appropriate to their activities, taking the children to and from their activities and school, notifying parents of childrens' needs both emotional and material, scheduling and coordinating playdates and other activities, undertaking creative activities with the children, undertaking educational activities with the children, undertaking outdoor activities with the children every day (weather appropriate), helping with homework, and reinforcing appropriate discipline for the children with an understanding that the word discipline means to teach. As both children are in school full-time from September to June, the individual will use this time to maintain the household in excellent condition. Responsibilities include washing, ironing and putting away the family's clothes, tidying, picking up, sweeping, cleaning organizing, washing dishes and household projects (i.e. cleaning and wiping down cupboards, sorting and straightening closets, wiping down baseboards, exchanging winter clothes for summer clothes, establishing processes and procedures to ensure that the house remain clean). This individual will also be responsible for running household errands such as taking clothes to the dry cleaner, grocery shopping, etc. Cooking and meal planning are an essential part of this job. The successful individual must know how to cook wholesome, healthy meals and understand how to plan meals and prepare grocery lists. We are a family that cooks from scratch. If you cannot cook and plan meals then do not apply for this position. The successful individual will have 3 years of similar domestic experience, as well as CPR, First Aid, police check and strong written and spoken English. Attributes such as sense of humour, fun loving and wants to play with the kids, high energy, caring, loving, gentle, adaptable, flexible, good judgement, good communication skills and strong planning and organization skills are a plus. Hours are 7:45am to 5:15pm, Monday to Friday. The wage is $2400 per month. The individual will also receive 20 days of paid vacation which must correspond with the family's vacation time. In addition the following general holidays are provided with pay: New Years Day, Alberta Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
